A Mulberry Inspired Photoshoot
Much has been made of ‘it’ handbags in fashion circles lately, with the past few years characterised by the era of the Fendi Baguette, the Balenciaga Lariat and the Chanel 2.55. I must admit to largely by passing this trend, with one exception – Mulberry. Whether it’s the smell of the leather, the British craftsmanship and heritage or the classic designs, their bags send me weak at the knees. I’d best not divulge exactly how many I own in case Mr Tempting Cake reads this…
So when the ever-stylish Melanie from Cranberry Blue Weddings & Events mentioned she had a Mulberry-themed shoot in mind, it was clearly right up my street.
We created a Tempting Table for the shoot, incorporating spring fresh duck egg blues, and natural elements such as birds, feathers and flowers

Our duck egg blue cake sat perfectly in front of the blue wall behind. The flowers adorning the cake are all hand-made from sugar and include blossoms, buds, ivy and roses in wreaths around the cake to echo the floral headwear.
The cake was complemented by some love bird cookies, which were positioned facing each other to bring them to life.
We displayed the feather cookies displayed in a striking pin wheel fashion for maximum impact.
Mini eggs with their crackle glazed surface and soft colour palette were a cute addition to the table.
Finally, our buttercream rose piped cupcakes in tissue paper green leaves completed the line up.
Melanie’s organisation was evident on the day with everything running like clockwork. Her high fashion experience resulted in stunning looks like this coming together under her watchful eye at the beautiful Dartmouth House

Melanie planned the shoot in conjunction with Floral Designer Elizabeth Marsh, who created striking floral accessories. The flower girls at two of the biggest weddings of 2010 (Kate Moss and Kate Middleton) sported flower fairy-esque head bands, and Elizabeth’s creation complements the bouquet perfectly.
Cutture provided the beautiful stationery, with delicate trees and a luxurious purple script:
