Black Tie Wedding Cake Inspiration

June 5, 2012

You might remember that we recently shared our ideas of accessories for both the bride and your table tops inspired by our Pearly Queen cake design  as well as our powder blue cake, and we’re pleased to bring you the next in this series of blog posts.

For brides looking to capture the understated elegance of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s or high contrast a la Chanel, a monochrome wedding colour palette certainly won’t disappoint.

Taking centre stage here is our Black Tie wedding cake, an immaculately iced white fondant cake simply finished with black satin ribbon around the base of each tier.

A monochrome wedding cake would be offset perfectly by pairs of these Thorsten van Elten candlesticks from House to Home on each table at the reception and these decadent John Rocha for Waterford Crystal champagne flutes (bottom row, second in from the right).

Bring the colourway into your flowers with black and white anemones, and use corsages made by the very talented Artsy Butterfly (top right).

Vera Wang’s recent bridal collections have included a striking black belt on gowns such as the Ethel (bottom right).  Chanel’s latest footwear collection includes these fabulous two tone calf skin shoes for the bride who oozes style from head toe.

Set the tone for your wedding from the outset with these monogrammed Winter Frost invitations from Intricate Creations (bottom left).

I love the monochrome theme – so elegant and classic. The white iced wedding cake looks delicious!
